If you are attending the RIBA Guerrilla Tactics Conference this week, don’t miss the Thursday morning session with Tony Hall and Michael Morgan who will be discussing the changes in new legislation, in particular Parts O and F.
Understanding and Applying New Approved Documents O and F
Thursday 20 November – 9.30-10.30am
Tony Hall (Technical Design Director, Levitt Bernstein) & Michael Morgan (Technical and Major Projects Manager, London Building Control)
RIBA Core Curriculum: Legal, regulatory and statutory compliance/Health, safety and wellbeing.
Tony and Michael will recap the changes brought in with the new AD O (Overheating) and updates to F (Ventilation). They will discuss when they apply and how to implement the regulations on new builds and extensions. They will discuss issues encountered in practice and how these might be addressed, when to get a specialist involved and why the simplified calculation method may not be sufficient. Finally, should architects go beyond those requirements as a matter of course?
