London Building Control (LBC) is delighted to announce that it has signed an agreement to be acquired by Bureau Veritas, a leading global Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) company.
This strategic acquisition would mark a significant milestone in LBC’s journey, strengthening our position as a trusted leader in the Building Control industry. It reflects our shared commitment to quality, safety, and professional excellence.
For the LBC Directors, it was vital to find a partner that shares our ethos, vision, and dedication to people and clients. Bureau Veritas’ values of being “ambitious and humble” align seamlessly with those of LBC. Together, we intend to continue to deliver exceptional service while creating new opportunities for professional development and innovation.
Bureau Veritas will bring a wealth of experience through its position on the Building Safety Regulator framework, and its expertise in Fire Engineering, Structural Inspections, CDM Services, and as a Registered Building Control Approver (RBCA).
This contemplated acquisition will enhance the services LBC can offer, expanding our technical capabilities across both residential and commercial sectors. Our combined knowledge and resources will allow us to offer an even stronger, more comprehensive service to our clients and partners.
Our leadership team will remain in place to ensure continuity and to deliver on our shared growth strategy.
As part of this transition, Chris Wigley, London Building Control’s founder, will step down after almost 20 years serving as Managing Director. We would like to thank Chris for his vision and leadership that have been instrumental in founding and growing London Building Control. His foresight and commitment have shaped LBC into one of the most respected and well-organised RBCAs in the industry.
We look forward to this exciting new chapter with Bureau Veritas—a partnership built on shared values, expertise, and a commitment to a safer built environment.
